Still more work to do to maximize UCE potential

The 2023 State of Continuing Education study shows that support for professional continuing education continues to increase amount senior leadership, but there is still more work to be done.

Earlier this year, CAUCE collaborated with UPCEA and The EvoLLLution on their annual State of Continuing Education study. The 2023 State of Continuing Education study focused on professional, continuing, and online (PCO) unit program offerings, institutional support and capabilities, and perceptions of the competitive landscape, as well as continuing education collaboration and integration within the larger institution.

To achieve the full potential of PCO programming, assuage concerns around market demand, and improve enrollments in traditional programming, continuing education must be viewed by academic leadership as an integral and equal function of an institution’s portfolio.  We must continue to evangelize leadership and translate increasing support to increasing resources and portfolio alignment.

Additional findings and their impact can be seen in the report.
