Mapping the Role of Generative AI in Curriculum Design – A Collective Exploration | PART 2

December 2, 2025 at 1:30 pm ET

Building on the insights and themes that emerged from our first session, this follow-up workshop moves us from broad exploration to deeper engagement with practical applications of generative AI in curriculum design. We begin by revisiting the key findings from our November discussions, highlighting shared experiences, pressing questions, and emerging opportunities identified by participants. From there, we move into focused, small-group discussions where participants will examine specific scenarios, challenges, or promising practices that surfaced in the previous session.

These could include topics like:

  • how to meaningfully integrate AI into curriculum planning while preserving academic integrity;
  • how AI can support more personalized learning experiences in continuing education; and/or
  • how to navigate the ethical and practical tensions of using AI-generated content.

Each discussion group will work collaboratively to develop key takeaways and actionable insights, capturing concrete ideas that will feed into a final document, a collective resource that distills what we’ve learned together. This document, to be shared in early 2026, will serve as a practical guide for AI-enhanced curriculum design in continuing education, informed directly by the experiences and reflections of those working in the field.

As with our first session, the emphasis here is not on technical deep dives but on collaborative exploration, peer learning, and real-world application. By the end of this session, participants will leave not just with ideas, but with hopefully a clear sense of direction for how AI can be harnessed to enhance curriculum design within their institutions.
