Sustainable Design Strategies for Program Development in Continuing Education

Explore current ID challenges in program development and approaches that have the most impact on growing and scaling professional programs.

Driven by the speed of digital transformation and advances in technology, a growing market of learners are seeking in-demand skills and specialized credentials to remain competitive in the post-pandemic working environment. To respond to changing skill demands, the institutions for continuous learning need to accelerate the development of shorter, more focused programs allowing for greater learning flexibility and content personalization that will help learners get back into the workforce faster. To do this, our existing program development practice would benefit from sustainable strategies at the design decision-making stage. The design stage is a perfect and necessary opportunity to find unique and creative ways to capitalize on the most specialized curriculum and map out an effective learning path to scale and make the success of an educational offering through a variety of learning modalities or program bundles.

To help illustrate the value of sustainable design, this workshop will explore current ID challenges in program development and approaches that have the most impact on growing and scaling professional programs.
