CAUCE member institutions are highly diverse, offering a wide range of program types, including for‑credit programs, community programs, professional programs, transitional programs such as English and French as a second language, Indigenous transition programs, lifelong learning programs, and personal interest programs.
Our institutional members are also leaders in the use of innovative educational technologies and pedagogies, including online learning and flexible learning models. While no two members are the same, this diversity of approaches, learners, and contexts is a key strength of the CAUCE community.

Membership categories and fees
CAUCE offers institutional, affiliate, and individual membership options.
Before submitting an application, please review the list of current members. Employees of institutional or affiliate member organizations may already be covered under their organization’s membership. To confirm eligibility and learn about next steps, please contact the dean, director, or senior leader at your organization who holds the membership.
Institutional Membership | Annual fees range $572 to $3,363
Every Canadian university or college in good standing with the Universities Canada are eligible for membership. Please contact the secretariat to confirm you fee category prior to submitting an application.
Affiliate Membership | Annual fee – $510
National, provincial and international associations, groups, organizations, or institutions interested in or associated with continuing education at the post-secondary level but not eligible for membership in Universities Canada.
Examples of collectives of individuals that would be eligible to apply for affiliate membership include, but are not limited to:
- colleges and polytechnics in Canada, as recognized by CICAN and/or Polytechnics Canada;
- international associations similar to ours (UPCEA, ACHE, and UALL);
- post-secondary institutions (including international ones) that are not eligible for membership in Universities Canada;
- other professional associations.
Professional Membership | Annual fee – $135
Any persons interested in or associated with continuing education at the post-secondary level. Examples include, but are not limited to:
- individuals who provide training and education on a contract basis;
- employees of collectives that are not part of an institution or organization that is an institutional or affiliate member;
- individuals who may be part of an institutional or affiliate membership and want to be a professional member.
Honourary Membership | by nomination
Persons nominated for honourary membership are individuals who have contributed to the objectives of CAUCE, and university continuing education in Canada. No annual fee.
Corporate Associate Membership | under review
