The Chang School is looking for a Program Director to drive the success and overall administration of an assigned portfolio of programs. The Program Director is responsible for contributing to the business growth and new opportunities of the portfolio area, providing program leadership with respect to academic excellence, program delivery, partner engagement, and other administrative functions within the framework created by The Chang School.
The successful candidate will be assigned a portfolio and will be responsible to provide oversight of a number of existing degree credit programs in collaboration with the Faculty, as well as pursue new opportunities in non-credit and post-graduate programming. The successful candidate will also be expected to lead the initiatives to expand the portfolio in ways that are aligned with Chang School objectives by building on the current programming and initiating new community engagement projects.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading the overall academic and strategic management of the program area, including administrative oversight and budgetary planning.
- Overseeing the hiring, performance management and development of program staff and CUPE contract lecturers.
- Ensuring all courses and programs within the portfolio meet the school’s quality assurance standards and expectations, and all program planning activities enhance the student experience.
- Overseeing and conducting regular program reviews, using data and metrics to monitor, evaluate, and maximize performance.
- Creating and implementing partnerships and strategic linkages with internal and external stakeholders, with a view to propose new programming initiatives.
- Maintaining awareness of current developments and forces in the field of adult education, including innovative practices nationally and internationally.

Qualifications
- Successful completion of a Graduate degree.
- A minimum of 7 to 10 years of successful experience in strategic academic program management and leadership roles that include conceptualizing, planning, implementing and directing innovative programming and leading people through incentive and motivation at the post-secondary educational level.
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing creative, strategic, and innovative academic programming.
- Success in working collaboratively within a team and in building relationships with multi-sectoral stakeholders for new business development opportunities.
- Excellent knowledge and application of the principles and theory of adult education at local, national and international levels.
- Knowledge of best practices related to strategic program planning and implementation.
- Exceptional analytical skills that lend to strong judgment and decision making skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple competing projects/assignments at once and evaluate a variety of programs and projects simultaneously.
