Executive Committee Nomination Information

Serving on the executive committee is a fantastic opportunity for professional development and provides you with lots of opportunities to build relationships and expand knowledge in areas of national relevance. Each year, we accept nominations for the following director positions:

    •    president-elect
    •    secretary-treasurer
    •    three regional representatives

The executive committee is well-supported by the secretariat and committee members typically require a commitment of about one day per month (plus events like the deans and directors’ meeting and the annual conference).

Eligibility for nominations

The dean or director of our member institutions may nominate one individual for the executive committee.

To be eligible to be nominated to the executive committee, nominees must:

  • Be a dean or director (senior leader) holding an institutional membership or
  • Be a full-time professional staff member within a continuing education unit within the institutional membership category.

Members within our affiliate or professional membership categories are not eligible for nomination.

Nomination and consent

All nominations must be followed by the nominee’s agreement that if presented as a candidate for election, they will:

  • attend the virtual annual general meeting (AGM) in June, 2026, the face-to-face 2027 Deans and Directors’ meeting (location TBD, typically Toronto or Montreal), and the pre-conference executive meeting at the 2027 annual conference in Victoria, BC;
  • attend an executive committee orientation (1 hour/Zoom);
  • attend monthly executive meetings (1.5 hours/Zoom);
  • participate fully on the committee and carry out executive responsibilities as agreed to with the president.

Travel costs of the president are normally covered, in part or in whole, by the president’s university. However, a president who is not able to secure institutional funding for travel may be supported by the CAUCE operating budget and/or special reserve.

Prior to your nomination, please ensure your nominee reviews the above information. In addition, remind the nominee to complete the nomination consent form.

These forms can also be found in Member365.
