Welcome to CAUCE 2026

From the CAUCE president Jo-Anne Clarke

Hello and welcome to the 2026 CAUCE Conference in beautiful Halifax – I hope you are ready for some Maritime hospitality!

This year’s conference invites us to reflect on our collective capacity to adapt and to explore bold, innovative approaches for navigating the challenges of an increasingly complex and uncertain future. Amidst all the uncertainty surrounding us, one thing is for certain: our continuing education community continues to rise to every challenge with resilience, creativity, and a deep commitment to learners.

Over the next few days, I encourage you to dive in fully: connect with colleagues old and new, share your ideas, ask bold questions, and let the energy of this community fill your cup.

And while you’re here, take advantage of everything Halifax has to offer. Wander along the iconic waterfront boardwalk, explore the rich history of the city’s harbour, and, of course, be sure to enjoy a bowl of authentic seafood chowder. If you catch a sunset over the harbour or hear a fiddle tune drifting out of local pub, you’ll understand exactly why Haligonians are so proud of this place.

A special thank‑you to the team from Dalhousie University for hosting and supporting this year’s gathering. Your commitment to excellence in lifelong learning and warm welcome to your campus are much appreciated. I would also like to thank our sponsors and exhibitors for their contributions to making this conference possible.

Get ready everyone – she’s going to be a good time!
