2009/2010 CAUCE AWARDS OF PROGRAM EXCELLENCE SUBMISSION GUIDELINES Objectives of the Program Awards There are two clear objectives for the CAUCE Program Excellence Awards: 1. To recognize excellence in university continuing education programs in Canada through a competition adjudicated by a committee of professional peers from across the country; and 2. To nurture the concept of scholarship of practice inherent in the program development process. The Awards Six CAUCE Awards of Program Excellence will be awarded. To recognize the broad range of University continuing education programs in Canada , credit or non-credit programs by any delivery format or of any size are eligible. Program submissions will be grouped into the following categories and judged against other programs in the same category: a). local/regional programs - the program draws on local resources and is primarily aimed at a local/regional audience although it may attract a few students from farther away because of new technologies; b). national programs addressed to a national audience and drawing on local as well as national resources; c). international programs, reaching beyond national borders in that they have an international component (audience, location or employ international resources); international programs will have the additional complexity of having forged educational alliances across frontiers. As a general principle, the awards will be distributed proportional to the numbers of submissions in each grouping. Eligibility: All educational programs offered by members of CAUCE are eligible. Educational programs are credit or non‑credit programs that meet the learning needs of various student clienteles. There is no limit to the numbers of submissions from any institution or individual. Programs may have been initiated at any time provided that they were held or delivered during the period of October 1, 2008 to March 1, 2010. Programs must also have demonstrable outcomes. (e.g., enrollments, graduates, revenues, testimonials, etc.) The award will be made to the institution and partner organizations responsible for developing the program, with recognition of the individual programmer(s) at the awards ceremony. back to top
