DIRECTOR, CONTINUING & PROFESSIONAL STUDIES  – Competition Number 17-112

Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) currently has an exciting opportunity to lead and grow the Continuing Professional Studies program.  Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Business Development & Innovation, the Director, Continuing & Professional Studies will execute key initiatives within the department during a period of dynamic growth and change.  The Director will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership, overall organization, coordination, marketing, fiscal accountability, supervision and evaluation of the Continuing & Professional Studies (CPS) department.

The Person

The key responsibilities for this role are to provide strategic and operational leadership and direction to the CPS department, ensure the effective administration and support of all Continuing Studies programs, manage the annual operating plan and supporting budget, provide direction and leadership to CPS staff and represent the University and its interests to the internal and external community.

The Benefits

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of ten years’ experience in increasingly senior roles within the Post-Secondary Continuing Education sector and possess a Master’s degree in a relevant field.  An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.  The successful incumbent will have sound knowledge of the BC system of advanced education, will have experience working in partnership with academic deans to develop, market and offer programs and courses through collaborations between academic faculties and continuing education.  S/He will have a strong business acumen, be results and bottom-line driven with solid knowledge of budget creation, forecasting and on-going financial management.  A proven leader with, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills with high personal and professional integrity is required.

The salary range for this position is $85,400 to $109,400/year.  In addition, KPU offers a generous vacation entitlement as well as a competitive benefits package that includes medical, dental, extended health benefits, an annual health care spending account, life insurance, AD&D, and a defined benefit pension plan.  The incumbent will be eligible for professional development opportunities.
